Fungi have a big impact on our lives. They are used in food production (mushrooms, brewing), but they are also a major food spoiler. Fungi can cause disease in animals and plants, but they also produce compounds that are medically relevant. We study fungi in order to better understand these important organisms, so we can make better use of them and make our world more sustainable.
The Fungal Genomics group of Robin Ohm is part of the Molecular Microbiology lab at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. The group takes a functional genomics approach to answer biological questions about fungal growth, development and pathogenesis.
